Info & Benefits

Contains beneficial arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.

A simple application of HORTI1 at time of planting establishes the critical mycorrhizal fungi infrastructure, around which other beneficial soil microbes will gather in support of the plants for their entire lifetime.

Good soil conditions are crucial for healthy growth and fruitful cropping of orchards, vineyards and other woody plantations (excluding blueberries) . A range of soil-borne factors can result in replant problems, which can lead to poor early establishment and as a long term result, plants not performing to their full potential.

Plants with a functional microbial community are better able to cope with biotic and abiotic stresses, insuring a longer productive life and a healthier crop.

Benefits

  • Better tree & vine establishment and growth
  • Increased availability and uptake of nitrogen and phosphorus
  • Longer productive life
  • Increased drought tolerance and water use efficiency
  • Enhances systemic plant defences Improved resistance against pests and diseases
  • Builds biologically active soils

Product Info

  • 10 kg tubs
  • Granular formulation in coarse grade
  • Proprietary blend of UK cultivated Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF)
  • AMF component contains active structures of 5 species at minimum 500k propagules per litre

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) associate with 90% of all crop plants. By growing into the root, as well as accessing large areas of soil around the plant, these remarkable fungi effectively increase the uptake surface area of plant roots up to 700 times. Additionally plant defence mechanisms are improved by the partnership. Put simply, plants colonised by AMF are healthier and significantly more efficient at collecting water and nutrients from the soil.

The most effective and economic time to introduce beneficial soil microbiology is during propagation. The mycorrhizal propagules  in RG Pro Horti 2 will colonise the growing roots and the life long mutualistic symbiosis will establish between plant and fungi.

The granular product can be added in the potting mixes at any stage of propagation by simply mixed into the substrate, or introduced as a layer below the plant.

The mycorrhizal fungi in RG Pro Horti 2 have been specially selected to help release and uptake nutrients to growing roots of  nursery propagated plants grown in substrate  mixes ensuring  a rapid root growth and kick start for a healthy life  of a young plant.
